The Bandar Imam Khomeini (RA) Export Terminal was established in 2012 in Mahshahr, Khuzestan Province, southwestern Iran, with four storage tanks, each having a capacity of 3,000 metric tons. Its strategic location near the sea provides Pasargad Oil Company with convenient access to major markets across Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa. Bandar Imam Khomeini (RA) benefits from a strategic location and is equipped with two berths, each 184 meters in length, and a water depth capable of accommodating vessels with a draft of up to 12 meters. These facilities enable the terminal to accommodate large vessels with capacities of up to 44,000 metric tons and provide suitable conditions for loading various types of vessels with different grades of bitumen. In February 2017, the arrival of the largest bitumen carrier in Iran for the first time marked a significant milestone in the country's bitumen export industry. Pasargad Oil Company set a new record for the largest volume of bitumen shipped through Iranian ports, supplying bitumen from its Abadan production plant and exporting it via the Bandar Imam Khomeini (RA) Export Terminal. Furthermore, the terminal is equipped with bitumen storage facilities with a total capacity of 13,800 metric tons.
