Tabriz Refinery
The first steps of designing this refinery started in 1974 and its operation started in 1977 and in the middle of 1978 it was opened. the nominal capacity of this refinery was 80.000 barrels a day which increased to 115.000 barrels a day after the project of capacity increasing by Iranian specialists. The products of this refinery are: liquid gas, normal gasoline, super gasoline, jet light fuel, jet heavy fuel, Kerosene, solvants, gasoil, fuel oil, variety of bitumen and sulphur.
Tabriz Plant
Tabriz refinery consists of two bitumen units which are capable of producing 60/70, 85/100, and 85/25 grades. At the present time, bitumen grade 85/100 is the unique production of the above mentioned units.
Tabriz old bitumen unit was established in 1978 with the capacity of 1000 barrels a day. By implementation of improving and developing projects, the capacity increased to 4000 barrels a day which 1000 barrels of this amount was grade 85/25 and the rest of 3000 barrels were bitumen grades 60/70 and 85/100. Considering the technical limitations including unit’s thermal equipment, the practical capacity of this unit has been limited to 2500-3000 barrels a day (85/100)
The new Tabriz bitumen production unit was designed and started in 1998 with the nominal capacity of 5500 barrels a day, by refinery experts, using the same technology as the bitumen plant of Isfahan refinery as a pattern. The capacity of this unit has been increased by rewamping the existing production facilities.
Both units of Tabriz plant are equipped with on line viscometer which digitally shows the temperature and feed viscosity in every second.
